Smorgas_of_Borg's Bread and Butter Pudding
(aka: 'Heart attack in a pan') Serves 25

Ingredients:
2 lbs French bread, sliced
8 ounces Butter, melted
20 Large Eggs
1 lb Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1 ounce (two tablespoons)Vanilla extract
2 1/2 Quarts Whole Milk
Cinnamon
Nutmeg

Grease a 12 x 20 inch bake pan with butter. Cut bread slices in half and brush on a light coating of melted butter. Arrange bread, overlapping, in the bake pan.

Mix together eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt until well combined. Gradually stir in the milk.
Pour the custard mixture over the bread in the pan.

Refrigerate for an hour or more so that the bread absorbs the custard mixture. Lightly sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg on top.

Place the bake pan in a larger pan with about an inch of water in it. Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for about an hour or until set.

Serve hot or cold with whipped cream, ice cream or a light dusting of confectioner's sugar.

For 10 Servings: Use 1 lb or less of bread, cut the ingredients by half and use a lasagne dish instead.
