Notfadeaway.org
We'd like to extend an invitation to all of
our readers to check out the site we have created at www.notfadeaway.org.
It houses a huge gallery of photos of James Marsters plus
screencaps of Spike from the TV series. It also has a posting
board where fans of Joss Whedon's TV series, as well as
fans of the characters, actors and writers from the series,
may post and read messages about a variety of topics, including
our Spike: Soul Survivor series. In fact, we'd like it very
much if anyone would care to discuss our series on this board.
Feel free to either register and become an actual member of
the board or just read and post messages there as a "guest".
We have plans to add other special "extras" to this
site in the future. Hope you enjoy the new site, again at:

Welcome to
That's right. It's all about Spike.
All Spike. All the time.
Since Joss Whedon didn't give us a Spike spin-off, we've created
one of our own. We hope all our readers will enjoy Spike's new adventures
as his journey takes him to many parts of America as well as to
other countries. And yes, he will be interacting with many characters
we already know and love. Should Joss (or one of his associates)
happen upon this site, please be aware that we would still love
to watch a Spike spin-off or a Spikecentric film. Spike fans are
legion!
Disclaimer: We do not own Spike or any of the characters
who once appeared in Joss Whedon's and Mutant Enemy's highly entertaining
television series: Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel:
The Series. If we owned Spike, we would have treated him better,
but we appreciate those who did create him.
Dedication: Thanks to the Bloody
Awful Poet's Society forum for the discussion that gave birth
to this series and to both BAPS
and the Cold
Dead Seed Forum for their loyal support. This series is dedicated
to Spike fans everywhere. Lastly, we dedicate Spike: Soul Survivor
to James
Marsters in honor of his brilliant, layered, nuanced portrayal
of our favorite character -- Spike.
Rating: Each episode will have its own rating. The entire
series might remain PG-13, but it may venture into R or even NC-17
territory. Please check each episode's rating and then read at your
own risk.
Summary: Our series begins the morning after the finale
of Angel: The Series. We consider the events of both Buffy
The Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series canon, but our
own material will become canon for our series. Spike: Soul Survivor
is written in typical fanfiction format rather than as a screenplay.
Depending on the interest of our readers and our members, there
may be a second season.
After leaving Los Angeles, Spike begins a journey that takes him
to many different places where he'll meet many different characters
-- some familiar ones from both series and some new characters,
too. He'll meet his two co-stars in our third episode. Eventually,
his journey becomes a quest to gather some mystical artifacts necessary
to save the world as we know it -- just in time for our final episode,
naturally. Some things never change.
Setting: The setting for our episodes will include: Los
Angeles and Gilroy, California; Grand Junction and Georgetown; Colorado;
Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Memphis,
Tennessee; Nebraska; Houston, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; England,
Hungary, Transylvania and Italy.
Our Process: We are a group of fans that have banded together
to create a virtual Spike series and who have done so using our
version of the Mutant Enemy writing method. Using a Yahoo
Group Site, we have discussed many ideas as a group, determined
a plot arc for the season and then selected which characters to
include in Spike's adventures. We continue to brainstorm plot points
for individual episodes and "break" the stories for them,
vote on episode titles, volunteer to co-write or beta specific episodes
or to create graphics for our website and to give each other both
support and feedback as well as occasional grief. Anyone who has
ever worked on a group project knows that it can be difficult but
that it can also be very rewarding. You can challenge yourself to
achieve things you may have previously thought were beyond your
capabilities. You can also discover ways to inspire others and to
improve your own skills. We recommend it as a learning experience.
If you are interested in joining us in this process, either as a
writer, editor, researcher, graphic artist, or website designer,
please click on the "Join This Group" button on the Spike:The
Virtual Series homepage.
